Driving While Impaired - Participant Guidebook Page 14 • Drivers will be automatically considered under the influence if they have a BAC of .08 or more. However, you can still be convicted of a DUI if your BAC is below this level, if there is sufficient evidence that their driving was impaired. • Drivers shall not operate a motor vehicle while under the influence of any intoxicating drug. • It is illegal for a person under age 21 to operate a motor vehicle with any detectable amount of alcohol in their system. • Officers may conduct preliminary roadside analysis of a driver's breath if they have reason to believe that the driver is intoxicated. • Drivers consent to chemical tests of their blood, breath, or urine when they operate a motor vehicle if reasonably suspected of driving under the influence, or if they refuse a preliminary breath test. • Officers may conduct preliminary roadside analysis of a driver's breath if they have reason to believe that the driver is intoxicated. Child Safety Seats - Participant Guidebook Page 37 • Birth to at least 2 years old must be secured within a rear-facing infant or convertible child safety seat. • At least 2 years old AND has outgrown the rear-facing seat with internal harness by height or weight must be secured within a forward-facing seat with an internal harness. • 4 years old AND has outgrown the forward-facing seat with internal harness by height and weight must be secured within a belt-positioning booster seat using the lap belt and shoulder belt.
