Driving While Impaired - Participant Guidebook Page 14 • Drivers will be considered under the influence if they have a BAC of .08 or more or if they are under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or any impairing substance - or combination thereof - to a degree that renders them incapable of safely driving a vehicle. • Drivers consent to chemical tests of their blood, breath, or oral fluid if arrested for driving under the influence when they operate a motor vehicle. • Drivers will be required to install an ignition interlock device if they (1) are convicted of driving with a BAC of .15 or more, (2) refuse to take a breath test, (3) were driving a passenger under the age of 14, (4) caused injury to another person, or (5) are a repeat offender. • A person who is under the age of 21 years shall not drive or be in actual physical control of any vehicle if they have a BAC of 0.02 or more. Child Safety Seats - Participant Guidebook Page 37 • Children under the age of 1 or weighing less than 20 pounds must be restrained in an infant-only seat or convertible seat used in the rear-facing position. • Children under the age of 5 or 40 pounds must be restrained in a convertible seat in the forward position or forward-facing seat. • Children under the age of 6 must be restrained in a booster seat. • Children under the age of 15 must be restrained using a seat belt.
