Sharing the Road with Pedestrians – Participant Guidebook Page 85 • If a pedestrian is entering a crosswalk, the driver must yield by stopping or slowing down. • If a driver is making a right turn while a pedestrian is in the crosswalk, they must yield to the pedestrian. • When pulling out on to the road, a driver must stop before they cross a sidewalk, even if there are no pedestrians. • If a pedestrian is using a white cane, this indicates that they are blind, and drivers must yield the right-of-way.
