Complete the Knowledge Check successfully on these topics. PHYSICAL CHANGES AFFECT OUR DRIVING While some changes to our bodies and minds happen quickly, others are gradual and harder to detect. Both obvious and subtle changes can impact driving in a variety of ways. In this section, we will discuss how it is important to know if we are fit to drive. Be Aware of Medical Conditions Some medical conditions can limit your driving abilities depending on how they affect your sensory and motor skills or mental well-being. Functional problems to be concerned about include: X Inability to recognize potentially dangerous situations. X Inability to react quickly enough to avoid dangerous situations. X Temporarily losing control of your vehicle's speed or direction. X Forgetting how to travel a familiar route.
